The soulful pop singer signed to Sony Music in 2003 after taking out the first season of Australian Idol.

In the years since, he’s carved out a career like few others with four million albums sold, 42 platinum accreditations and six No. 1 singles, the most by any Australian male artist in ARIA history.

“This is a special No.1 for Guy Sebastian,” comments Denis Handlin, chairman & CEO of Sony Music ANZ. “He has overcome a tremendous amount of adversity in recent times and his work ethic in the making and promoting of this album has been outstanding. I am so proud of Guy and the team in what is a truly remarkable achievement, and it was very emotional to celebrate this incredible milestone with Guy’s family and friends and our team”.

Sebastian will support the new album with a national T.R.U.T.H. tour, set for November and December 2021.

In a statement, Sebastian adds, “What a journey it’s been. I still can’t believe that one of the most personal albums I have released has resonated with so many people. It has been quite an extraordinary year for everyone, and I am really humbled that these songs have connected and helped along the way”.

T. R. U. T. H. is the 13th Australian album to hit the summit on the ARIA survey in 2020.

Also new to the chart this week, Skegss open at No. 4 with 50 Push Ups For A Dollar. The EP is the Byron Bay garage rockers’ second Top Ten entry, following My Own Mess, which peaked at No. 2 in September 2018.

50 Push Ups For A Dollar is the top seller on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.

Brisbane rock favorites Powderfinger make a power play on this week’s ARIA charts, with several classic albums enjoying sales spikes.

The 20th anniversary edition of their former No. 1 album Odyssey Number Five returns to the top tier, thanks to the buzz surrounding their forthcoming Unreleased collection, due out in Nov. 27.

Odyssey Number Five returned to the chart again at No. 2 in September when it was reissued, and is at No. 10 this week on the main albums chart, and No. 2 on the Vinyl Albums Chart. Also, Powderfinger’s Double Allergic (from 1996) is at No. 3 on the vinyl tally, and their third album Internationalist (1998) is at No. 7.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart 24kGoldn makes it a month at the summit with “Mood,” featuring Iann Dior.

Close behind is Joel Corry & MNEK’s U.K. hit “Head & Heart” which, after five successive weeks at No. 3, improves one place to a new peak at No. 2.

The highest new entry on the current frame belongs to Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco, whose “Lonely” bows at No. 14. It’s Bieber’s fifth Top 50 entry for 2020.
